I am so pleased that you have taken the time to stop for a visit in my World!

I enjoy painting and teaching in all mediums but Oil is my first love! I started as a Tole Painter (Decorative Art) which gave me the basics of how to paint in any style. Many years ago I fell in love with the style of "contemporary realism" - painting a subject and making it look like a photo. It has taken me into the Fine Art world and I find that it is a style that challenges me! It is very exciting for me to take what God has given me and apply it to His creation that speaks to me most!

FROM NORCAL TO ARIZONA!

In June 2017 I made a move from Eureka, CA to Black Canyon City, AZ (north of Phoenix)! I never thought that I would leave California but my son and daughter live here so a no-brainer!   It is a big change, especially the weather but I find that I am adapting! I have a new home, wonderful neighbors and a great church family!

This brought about a life change, as well. I will no longer be teaching weekly classes as I have since 1985. I plan on only travel teaching for clubs or oil painting groups. This will give me more time to create and I look forward to that!

USING ALCOHOL INK AND RESIN TO CREATE GREAT FUNCTIONAL ART!!

For awhile now I have been painting in a new medium: Alcohol Ink. A joyous medium and SO colorful! The designs tend to be more abstract or loose interpretations of scenes - 180 degrees from the tight realism that I spend so much time doing! I love to create my designs on functional pieces (my Decorative Art training!) like ceramic tiles, magnets, dishes, plates, etc.

In addition I am also creating art with resin - coasters, trays, pendants, and dessert servers.  

Always something new in my world!
